Will it fit my van?

What is a stud pattern?

Your stud pattern, also called the bolt pattern, lug pattern or PCD (pitch circle diameter), is the diameter of the circle that runs through the centre of your wheel studs, with the number of studs in front. 5x120 means five studs on a 120 mm circle. Most vans have four, five or six. Our stud pattern guide shows how to measure yours.

I have a Citroen Relay, Fiat Ducato or Peugeot Boxer. Which stud pattern is mine?

L1, L2 and L3 vans use 5x118. Maxi Heavy L4 vans use 5x130. Pick the right one when you choose your van. Not sure? Choose "not sure" and we'll check before anything ships. We may also email you to confirm, so keep an eye on your inbox.

Will the wheels be load-rated for my van?

Yes. Once you've chosen your wheels and tyres, we look at your front and rear axle load ratings and make sure the set is safe and fully load-rated. Our wheels are rated from 1,000 kg to 2,000 kg each. If you've upgraded your plated weights, tell us: we can't see that from a registration.

Why can't I choose my tyre size?

Because your van sets it. We know what fits, what doesn't and what your van needs, so you don't have to work it out. You choose the tyre brand. We set the size and load rating for your van and your wheel size.

I'm planning to up-plate my van. Does that matter?

Yes. Up-plating raises your van's maximum permissible weight, so it can legally carry more. Tell us before you order, so the load rating on your wheels and tyres is enough for the new weight.

Do I need to lift or modify my van?

No. Every package is a direct fit: no rubbing, no cutting, no lift. If your van has been changed from factory spec, tell us before you order.

Does my van have TPMS, and do I need new sensors?

TPMS sensors report your tyre pressures to the dashboard. If your van has them, you'll need sensors for your new wheels: you'll find them in accessories. On a VW Crafter or Amarok, MAN TGE, Ford Ranger, Mercedes Vito or Ford Transit Custom we'll usually check with you before we ship. Not sure? Call us.

What are spigot rings, and do I need them?

Spigot rings, also called hub centric rings, fill the gap between the centre bore of the wheel and the hub of your van, so the wheel sits dead centre. If you need them, they're in your fitting kit box: fit them to the hubs before the wheels go on. No rings in the box usually means you don't need them. Your pallet jobsheet confirms it.

Will I need new bolts, nuts or locking nuts?

Not always. Some wheels take your original bolts, but we advise new ones in case yours aren't compatible. Use the bolts we supply: they're matched to your wheels. We're not responsible for damage caused by using other bolts. Keep your locking key somewhere safe, because replacements are tricky.

Ordering and stock

How does ordering work?

Order on the site and you'll get an email saying we've received it, then a top tips email. Please read it: it could save you a lot of headaches. Shortly after, we call you to confirm your order. Our packages are specialist, so sometimes we need to check the stud pattern and spec of your van. A registration check doesn't always tell us, especially if your van has been upgraded.

Can I order by phone?

We can't take card payments over the phone. Call us and we'll email you an invoice.

Are all your wheels in stock?

Not all of them. We list wheels we hold in our depots, and some marked "Pre-order, due" with the month we expect them. We don't hold every fitment, size and colour at the Reading showroom, so some are brought over from another depot overnight.

What does "Pre-order, due" mean on a wheel?

That wheel is on its way to us, and you can order it now. The product shows the month we expect it. That month is the delivery period we agree with you. If it slips, we'll tell you as soon as we know, and you can cancel for a full refund or wait for the new date.

Do you price match?

No. Many sellers drop-ship stock that isn't theirs. We hold our stock ourselves, which lets us give you a quicker, more reliable service.

Do you offer price protection?

No. Prices are confirmed when you place your order. See how our offers work.

Do you offer trade prices?

Yes. Trade customers buy through the trade portal, or email info@roguealloytrade.co.uk.

Delivery and collection

When will my wheels arrive?

We aim to get every order to you within three working days. Once it ships, Palletways email you, then text you a two-hour slot on the morning of delivery. Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. More on our delivery page.

Do I need to be home?

Ideally, yes, to sign for the pallet. If you're happy for it to be left in a safe place, arrange that with Palletways. Leave a mobile number at checkout so they can text you.

Can I collect my order instead?

Yes, from our Reading showroom. We need at least 24 hours' notice to process your order, so please don't arrive until we've confirmed it's ready.

Fitting

Do you fit wheels?

Yes, at our Reading showroom by appointment, and in Manchester through our authorised dealer. Order online, then call the showroom to book, and wait for us to confirm before you travel. See fitting.

Do the wheels arrive balanced and ready to go on?

Yes. When you buy a package, we fit the tyres, balance the set and ship it ready to go straight on.

Will I get a fitting certificate?

Yes, when we fit your wheels. It's a signed document confirming we've fitted your package safely and professionally, with your recommended tyre pressures, torque settings and how to look after the wheels.

Should I fit the wheels myself?

We'd always recommend a professional fitting. Unless you have the right tools and have done it before, please don't. The bolts must be tightened to your van's figure with a torque wrench, and we can't be responsible for fitting errors made away from our approved fitting sites.

Do I need an alignment after fitting?

Not always, but when you change all four tyres we advise getting the alignment checked, to catch any existing problem.

Aftercare and warranty

Do I need to re-torque my wheels?

Yes. Check and re-torque your bolts or nuts after the first 30 miles, whoever fitted them. It's your responsibility, and our warranty doesn't cover damage caused by bolts that weren't re-torqued. Find your figure on your jobsheet, your certificate or our torque settings page.

What should I clean my wheels with?

A pH-neutral cleaner, free of acid and alkali. Most wheel cleaners do more harm than good: acids and alkalis corrode the wheel and the bolts. Our own Rogue Alloy Rinse is pH 7.2. Spray it on, leave it for 30 seconds, then rinse. Never use it on hot wheels. Find it in accessories.

Do your wheels come with a warranty?

Rogue Alloy wheels come with a free structural warranty against buckles and cracks, on top of your legal rights. If a covered wheel cracks or buckles, we replace it. It doesn't cover kerbing, corrosion from cleaners, vandalism, or damage caused by bolts not being re-torqued after 30 miles. It covers Rogue Alloy wheels only, not other brands we sell and not tyres. Full terms, including how to register and claim, are in section 12 of our terms.

Returns and faulty goods

My wheels arrived damaged. What do I do?

Email orders@roguealloy.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery if you can, with photos. We'll collect the damaged wheel at our cost and send you a new one once it's back with us, or refund you if you'd rather. If you spot damage later, still tell us: your rights don't end after 48 hours.

Can I return wheels if I change my mind?

Yes. If you're a consumer, you have 14 days from the day after delivery to change your mind, for any reason. Email us, then bring the wheels back to our Reading showroom at no cost, send them back yourself, or ask us to collect them. If you send them or we collect them, you pay the return cost. There's no restocking fee. Full details are in our refund policy.

What if the wheels have been fitted?

You can still cancel within the 14 days. But wheels and tyres that have been fitted and driven on lose value, and we can reduce your refund by that loss, which can be most or all of the price. So check everything before anything goes on the van. If a wheel is faulty, your legal rights apply whether or not it's been fitted. Contact us and see our refund policy.

Driving, MOT and insurance

Will bigger tyres affect my speedo, fuel or road noise?

Most factory speedos read a little high, and a larger tyre usually brings the reading closer to your true speed. Fuel economy may drop, depending on the tyre: as little as 2 to 3 mpg for some, and roughly 5 to 8 mpg on BFGoodrich all-terrains. Noise depends on the tyre. With some you'll notice no difference at all.

Will new wheels affect my MOT or insurance?

Everything we supply is load-rated for your van and MOT compatible. Tell your insurer about the new wheels. They may want to add them to your cover, and some charge extra for it.

Tyres

Which all-terrain tyre do you recommend?

The General Grabber AT3. It's quiet on the road, costs little in mpg, and it's good on and off road.

Are your all-terrain tyres OK in winter?

Yes. All our all-terrain tyres carry the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) winter mark.

Can I have white lettering?

On tyres that come with it, yes. Choose the letter colour on the product page when you add tyres.

Tyre size tool

What will a new tyre size do to your speedo?

Rogue sets your tyre size from your van's data, so you don't need to work this out to order. This is for the curious, and for checking a size someone else has suggested.

Turn on JavaScript to compare your own tyre sizes. The figures on the right use the sizes shown here as a worked example.

685.9 mm Now 743.9 mm New

That's 58.0 mm bigger overall (8.5%), a ride-height change of about 29.0 mm.

Speedo reading against true speed
Speedo reads 30 mph 50 mph 70 mph
You'll be doing about 32.5 mph 54.2 mph 75.9 mph

Diameter (mm) = rim × 25.4 + 2 × width × profile ÷ 100.

Worked out from the sizes on the sidewall. Real tyres vary by a few millimetres between brands. We check every size against your van before it's fitted.

Load check

Is a wheel rated for your van?

Your axle weights are on the manufacturer's plate, usually in the driver's door frame or under the bonnet. The last two lines are usually the maximum for the front axle (1) and the rear axle (2).

Turn on JavaScript to check your own axle weights against a Rogue wheel's load rating.

Enter both axle maximums to see the load rating your wheels need.

Each wheel's share = its axle maximum ÷ 2. The rating you need is the larger of the two.

Rogue wheels are rated from 1,000 kg to 2,000 kg each, and once your van is set we only show you the ones rated for it. Planning to up-plate? Tell us when you order, so we can make sure the load rating on your wheels is enough. We check your axle ratings on every order anyway.

How-to videos

Fitting at home? Watch these first

  • How to measure a wheel stud pattern. Measure from the left edge of one stud to the centre of the stud opposite, and send us a photo of the measurement. We'll confirm your stud pattern.
  • Wheel fitting instructions. Use a torque wrench and follow the figure on your pallet jobsheet. On a VW Transporter, run the bolt holes through first to clear debris and brake dust, or the bolts will feel too tight.
  • Higher and lower wheel weights. Put the wheels with the fewest balance weights on the front and the most on the rear.
  • If your tyres have an F or R on them. Fit them where they're marked. Vans with TPMS can need different front and rear pressures.
  • Flattening the rear hub cover (Ducato, Relay, Boxer). Tap the rear hub covers flat with a hammer so the rear centre cap stays in place.
  • Removing the locating pins. If your hubs have them, take them out before fitting.
  • Fitting spigot rings to the hubs. Fit the rings to the hubs before the wheels go on.
  • How to put on your wheel caps. On some Rogue models you remove the centre cap with an allen key to check the torque or take the wheel off.
  • Torquing your wheel bolts. Start every bolt by hand, then torque it to your van's figure. Don't fully tighten with an impact gun: the heat can reduce the clamping force as the bolts cool.

A note from us

Want your wheels quick? Be kind.

We're a small team doing our best every day, and we're real people. We care a lot about customer service, and about each other. Shouting, swearing or threats won't get your order out faster. They'll get you a full refund and a polite wave goodbye.
